Our mission at Rolling Plains is to invite everyone to:
Our "small people" need folks who want to entertain, teach, feed and play with them! Working in the Nursery allows you to not only minister to our children, but you're helping their parents have some time for great, uninterrupted worship. Our children are ages 0-3 and we are "open for business" during both the 8:30 and 11:00 worship hours. Won't you consider joining us?
Kids Praise takes place during both the 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM worship services. Kids praise provides a way for the children attending Rolling Plains to worship God and learn valuable life truths in a manner geared toward their age and interest. We need volunteers to help in many different capacities: teaching both large and small group studies, packing activity bins and registration. In addition we can use dancers, actors and a director for our KidstufFX Family Worship Service.
Passion is the word for Youth Ministry at Rolling Plains. We believe that the youth of today are very passionate about a lot of things. Our goal in Rock Solid Student Ministries is to take that passion, focus it, and equip youth to not only live the Gospel of Jesus Christ but to share it as well. The youth will be taught in a way that will challenge them in many ways. Virtues like obedience, service, humility, respect, and love are more than just fleeting thoughts.
The Rolling Plains United Methodist Men prepare and serve a free will offering breakfast once a month for the community. They are in need of men to help prepare serve and clean up after this monthly event.
We need volunteers to help greet and hand out bulletins to the Rolling Plains congregation each week on a rotating basis during both the 8:30 and 11:00 service. We also need volunteers to be available after the service to welcome and hand out a small gift to 1st time attendees.
This is a great group of people who help with big and small administrative projects which are so vital to helping things run smoothly in the church offices.
The members of Loaves and Fishes serve as the caterers for Rolling Plains Events. This wonderful group of volunteers provide food and beverage services for most of the functions held at Rolling Plains.
This is a group of volunteers who are mobilized on an as needed basis to provide food preparation and service after a funeral.

On October 13, 2012, our community will rally together to prepare over 100,000 meals to feed starving children! Schools, churches, and businesses are all working together to meet this goal. In just two hours, each volunteer will package over 300 meals. You've always said that you want to make a difference. Take this opportunity to do just that!

We have a website, however we need someone who would volunteer to keep it active up to date with our brochures, program applications, connections to other resources and overall clear crisp easy to use that will cause the entire family to see it as a source for their answers.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month from 6:30-8:30pm at Rolling Plains United Methodist Church. We are looking for individuals that can serve in the childrens nursery to provide childcare, drivers to pick up some of the mothers and children, and experienced mothers (or grandmothers) that are willing to come and form relationships with young mothers. If you're able to fill any of these needs, please contact us!
Seek out and complete grant applications to help fund our volunteer opportunities website. We are non-profit and need help raising funds to meet our expenses.
Help staff our table at fairs and exhibits so that the community can learn about us.
COAD Foster Grandparent Volunteers are assigned 2 to 5 children or youth that they will work with as mentors and tutors on a weekly basis. They help children read, tutoring them so they succeed in school. They work with troubled teens to help them gain confidence and to develop life skills. They work in pre-elementary school programs with preschoolers who need extra help to succeed in their future school endeavors. COAD Foster Grandparent Volunteers serve an average of 20 hours per week. A small non-taxable stipend of $2.65 per hour is given to volunteers who meet income eligibility requirements. In addition to the non-taxable stipend, Foster Grandparent Volunteers receive help with meal and transportation costs while volunteering, supplemental auto and liability insurances, an annual physical examination, pre-service orientation and monthly educational trainings and the joy of knowing they are making a difference for the children they serve.
This opportunity will be used anytime I want to record volunteer hours worked that are not specifically already listed as an opportunity.
