The American Red Cross Muskingum Valley Chapter serving Muskingum, Perry, Morgan, Guernsey and Noble counties is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
We have many volunteer opportunities in many areas. Health and Safety Instructors, Disaster Action Team Members, Sheltering and Feeding, Fund Raising Activities and committee members, general office work, Assist with Blood Drives.
Volunteers need to assist with bulk mailing, filing, and inventory etc

On October 13, 2012, our community will rally together to prepare over 100,000 meals to feed starving children! Schools, churches, and businesses are all working together to meet this goal. In just two hours, each volunteer will package over 300 meals. You've always said that you want to make a difference. Take this opportunity to do just that!

Tag donated furniture and stock to appropriate location in warehouse.
We are in need of volunteers to assist the teacher. Duties would include helping students with the mouse, type on the keyboard, etc. Very basic knowledge of the computer is required of the volunteers. Students ages range from 38 to 76.
Check "Needs" messages and follow up on each call and discern which families have the greatest need to schedule on Family Saturdays.
Help staff our table at fairs and exhibits so that the community can learn about us.
Assistance needed 1 or more days a week to sort and deliver mail to residents and office staff. This opportunity would need you to be available at least 1 1/2 - 2 hours each visit.
Seek out and complete grant applications to help fund our volunteer opportunities website. We are non-profit and need help raising funds to meet our expenses.
