Franciscan Community Meals on Wheels Program The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity at Good Samaritan Medical Center started the Franciscan Community Meals Program in 1967. Due to the growth of this program the Community Action Agency of Muskingum County was requested to assume the responsibility of the program in 1979, with Genesis Health Care System (Good Samaritan Campus) remaining the supplier of the meals. The age range of our clients is six years to one hundred years.
Meals are prepared for each individual as prescribed by their physician, and according to a list of their likes and dislikes. Hot meals are prepared and delivered Monday through Friday. Frozen meals can be delivered for the weekend or holidays. Individuals living outside the delivery area can receive frozen meals, and have them delivered on Monday’s.
Franciscan Community Meals is a provider for PASSPORT sponsored meals when the client has been approved through the Area Agency on Aging. There is a Wavier Program designed for individuals under the age of sixty-five who are in need of home delivered meals, these have to be approved by the Department of Human Services. Any individual can receive home delivered meals on a self-pay basis.
Volunteers are the vital link for the Franciscan Community Meals-on-Wheels program and add an immeasurable human value to the quality of what we do. We believe that those we serve deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Much too often, the volunteer may be the only contact with the customer for that day, the only caring words or smile, or the only safety net to alert us of possible health conditions or additional needs the customer may have.
The Franciscan Community Meals-on-Wheels Adopt-a-Route program is an easy and effective way for companies and organizations to get involved in their local communities! With as few as four people, a company or organization can Adopt-a-Route and deliver meals one day a week. Therefore, individual staff members would only deliver once a month, but the company or organization would help seniors, homebound and handicapped individuals every week.
Need volunteers to participate in upcoming Relay for Life ZBPW team.

On October 13, 2012, our community will rally together to prepare over 100,000 meals to feed starving children! Schools, churches, and businesses are all working together to meet this goal. In just two hours, each volunteer will package over 300 meals. You've always said that you want to make a difference. Take this opportunity to do just that!

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month from 6:30-8:30pm at Rolling Plains United Methodist Church. We are looking for individuals that can serve in the childrens nursery to provide childcare, drivers to pick up some of the mothers and children, and experienced mothers (or grandmothers) that are willing to come and form relationships with young mothers. If you're able to fill any of these needs, please contact us!

Passion is the word for Youth Ministry at Rolling Plains. We believe that the youth of today are very passionate about a lot of things. Our goal in Rock Solid Student Ministries is to take that passion, focus it, and equip youth to not only live the Gospel of Jesus Christ but to share it as well. The youth will be taught in a way that will challenge them in many ways. Virtues like obedience, service, humility, respect, and love are more than just fleeting thoughts.
Mentor youth in your programs by teaching the needle arts.
Kids Praise takes place during both the 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM worship services. Kids praise provides a way for the children attending Rolling Plains to worship God and learn valuable life truths in a manner geared toward their age and interest. We need volunteers to help in many different capacities: teaching both large and small group studies, packing activity bins and registration. In addition we can use dancers, actors and a director for our KidstufFX Family Worship Service.
We are in serious need of volunteers to help with our pickup schedule. Pickups will generally be done on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month and on Thursday evenings. Pickups can be scheduled at other times through the week when volunteers are available. Please call 740-317-6845 if you are interested.
